I can honestly tell you its so hot in the server room today theres only one type of idiot who would want to sit writing in there. The sun is SO HOT outside the air-con cant cope. Im sat here in next to nothing with the blazing sun outside, the aircon unable to cope with the heat, and Ive had to open a window for fresh air to try and cool the place down. Its not all fun being a geek you know. Sometimes you have to cope with hardware deadlines when everyone else is sat in the sun or at the beach. I get to sit in a boiling hot server room thats cooled by broken aircon and heated by masses of servers in the rack cabinet around ten feet away.

There, Ive said it. Im sat in my underwear its so hot now and I cant handle the heat like this.

With the news that Blu-Ray is the format for the future, the whole fight between the two formats is now over. Users of the Xbox will have to find what Microsoft will do about its inability to play Blu-Ray disks. That to some extent will be interesting. On the flip side the price of Blu-Ray enabled drives will fall over the next 12 months or so the ability to use your PC for more, especially as a media centre will become more and more interesting.
