Akasa Nero - 1366 | Posted on: 23/01/2009 @ 4:02

Several companies are issuing Socket 1366 brackets to allow their current heatsink to be used on the new Core i7 processors, but with a 40% larger surface area on the new chips, these behemoths output an enormous amount of heat, and we're not entirely convinced the old coolers will be sufficient. Today we're testing the Akasa Nero on the Core i7 Socket 1366, the first of several Core i7 coolers ...

Akasa Nero AK-967 CPU cooler review | Posted on: 20/01/2009 @ 9:48

For all the benefits of moving to Intel's new Core i7 architecture, one of the pitfalls is the need to look for a new third-part CPU cooler that support the system's LGA 1366 socket. Today, we take a look at the first Socket LGA 1366 compatible cooler to hit the Elite Bastards review dungeon, courtesy of Akasa's Nero AK-967 part.

EK Water Blocks FC-4870 | Posted on: 15/01/2009 @ 3:40

Like all high-end graphics cards, the HD 4870 produces a lot of heat, and even ATiÂ’s dual-slot cooling solution has difficulties keeping the card cool. One of the best ways to achieve quiet cooling for such a card is to use liquid cooling and one of the most prominent manufacturers for liquid cooling blocks is EK Water Blocks. Today we get to test an EK-FC4870 waterblock and take a look at ...

Zalman CNPS9900 LED CPU Cooler | Posted on: 15/01/2009 @ 0:20

The CNPS9900 LED features the familiar look of a Zalman product, with a variety of innovations and refinements that make it stand out over models from previous generations in the CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System) product line. A 120mm fan is located in between two rings of thin copper fins that dissipate the processor's heat thanks to three heatpipe loops.

ThermoLab Baram CPU Cooler | Posted on: 14/01/2009 @ 19:50

The Baram made a strong first impression for ThermoLab and what they are capable of... I hope to see more products from them in the future. The cooler performed quite well during testing, and for those interested in running their system in near silence, the Baram will cooperate with temperatures that may be better than on some more popular (and louder) coolers.

Cooler Master Aquagate Max | Posted on: 07/01/2009 @ 0:43

Lot of water has passed under the bridge since Cooler Master introduced first Aquagate water cooling solution. Interesting fact about this system is that it was one of the first retail water cooling systems that could be implemented in almost any chassis without massive modifications of the chassis itself. Main problem with Aquagate system was its low performance levels compared to other "custom" ...

Best CPU Cooler Performance - Q4 2008 | Posted on: 06/01/2009 @ 18:39

From my experience, 2008 has been a very good year for CPU coolers. We've tested the OCZ Vendetta 2 to perform as well or better than coolers twice its price, and we've discovered that the Thermaltake V14 Pro can deliver top cooling performance while looking good. But heading into 2009 we must bid farewell to the LGA775 platform, which has been the home to many of our most popular products, and ...

OCZ Gladiator Max | Posted on: 02/01/2009 @ 2:28

The OCZ Gladiator Max looks eerily similar to a few other HDT coolers; namely OCZ's own Vendetta 2, as well as the Xigmatek S1283 and Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer coolers we've also reviewed. Today we'll pit them all against one another in an HDT cage match and see if the Gladiator Max is victor or victim.
