NVIDIA 3D-Vision: Blu-Ray, Cameras, Projectors | Posted on: 22/12/2009 @ 6:20

Benchmark Reviews tested the NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision Gaming Kit when it originally launched back in January, 2009. Comprising a set of battery-powered LCD shutter glasses, the infrared emitter to drive them, and special 120Hz refresh-rate monitors, it enabled high-quality 3D gaming with hundreds of games, as long as you had a sufficiently powerful NVIDIA video card. In 2010, NVIDIA is ...

NVIDIA Linux 2009 Year In Review | Posted on: 20/12/2009 @ 17:10

Another annual tradition of ours besides running a Linux Graphics Survey is to provide a "year in review" analysis of the ATI and NVIDIA Linux drivers with their respective graphics driver releases from the past year in terms of both feature improvements and how their quantitative performance has changed. We have been doing these annual ATI and NVIDIA yearly reviews going back to 2005, but now ...

Radeon DRM Power Management Moves Along | Posted on: 17/12/2009 @ 3:10

Over the past month or so there has been a lot of work done by Rafał Miłecki and other open-source driver developers in providing open-source power management support under the ATI Radeon DRM code-base. In fact, the power management support has been the hold-up for moving the Radeon kernel mode-setting support out of the staging area of the Linux kernel, which is expected to still happen ...

Review: HIS Radeon HD 5750 | Posted on: 14/12/2009 @ 14:10

We checked out the reference design of the ATI HD 5750 last month and, to be honest, it got the sort of reception we'd normally give to a visit by Peter Mandelson. Actually, that's not true, nobody tried to punch him in the face. Anyway, it didn't do particularly well. Now the graphics manufacturers are producing their own versions and here we've got the HIS version with a whole new cooler on it. ...

XFX HD5770 Video Card Review @ Tweaknews | Posted on: 14/12/2009 @ 3:02

XFX\'s version of the HD5770 videocard is a great performing DirectX 11 videocard for the money. This videocard and its excellent reference cooling loves to overclock and performs beyond expectations for a mainstream videocard. In fact, two of them would make a highly affordable crossfire setup for slightly over US$350.

Axle GeForce GT 220 1 GB | Posted on: 08/12/2009 @ 13:20

While Axle is not the most well-known graphics card manufacturer, their GeForce GT 220 can score. It comes with a silent Arctic Cooling heatsink making it the quietest GT 220 we tested so far - great for HTPCs. It also offers low temperature levels which means overclocking is easy to do. We saw an 31% overclock on the GPU core clock and 18% on the memory.
