The thermal paste market is very vast with many different companies having their own brand or brands; plural. Despite not making as much temperature difference as upgrading a cooler, thermal grease is an integral part of any computer system in supporting the main cooling for your CPU and GPU. A good paste will not only give great temperature readings but will also be easy to spread and clean off ...
Reeven RCCT | Posted on: 28/04/2009 @ 13:29
CPU Cooling has advanced somewhat in recent years with many different techniques being tried and tested. A relatively new company, Reeven, currently offer two direct heat-pipe CPU Coolers. Today, we’ve been luckily enough to acquire one such cooler, the RCCT-0901S. Let’s see if it performs to the same specification of more well-known CPU Coolers.

Noiseblocker Black Silent Fans - XL1, XL2, XLP | Posted on: 27/04/2009 @ 19:40
When buying a set of case fans for your much loved rig, there are always two important factors which need to be considered: airflow and noise. Unfortunately it’s very rare to find a fan which truly performs greatly in both these requirements. However one such company, Noiseblocker, has designed the ‘XLP’ – a fan which boasts to meet both these demands. As well as this, ...
Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 | Posted on: 24/04/2009 @ 4:51
Today we\'re testing the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366, the Core i7-specific cooler that stems from its predecessor that achieved somewhat a celebrity status as a cooler that offered excellent cooling in a whisper-quiet setup. Truth be told, we\'re huge fans of Noctua\'s........fans........and are well aware of their near-legendary status in silent-build circles of enthusiasts; in fact, we regularly use ...

Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 280 graphics board cooler | Posted on: 21/04/2009 @ 9:34
While NVIDIA\'s reference cooler for their GeForce GTX 200 series of products is pretty respectable in terms of both noise and performance, there\'s always something better available for anyone willing to shell out for a third-party solution. Arctic Cooling\'s hefty Accelero Xtreme GTX 280 aims to be that \"something better\", but can it succeed in making the stock cooling solution look wimpy in ...
Evercool Rifling | Posted on: 15/04/2009 @ 15:28
The thought of an 80mm fan scares most. Stereotypically they’re regarded as noisy, offer poor airflow and are a waste of space. However, when we suddenly mention 92mm or 120mm fans, our view on these fans becomes rather opposite. So, what about trying to squeeze a 92mm fan blade into a standard 80mm fitting fan? Well that’s what cooling specialists Evercool have done. Introducing ...
Thermalright AXP-140 HTPC CPU Cooler Review | Posted on: 15/04/2009 @ 14:00
Thermalright is a name that has defined high end cooling for years. Focusing their efforts towards the HTPC, Thermalright looks to bring much needed cooling and silence to a niche that has only a few to choose from. Does the 900 gram AXP-140 have what it takes to keep your HTPC cool and quiet?
Coolink GFXChilla | Posted on: 14/04/2009 @ 17:32
Graphics card cooling has become almost as important as CPU Cooling, if not more so and with many products to choose from; it’s difficult to know which one to go for. The GPU cooler up for review today is the Coolink GFXChilla and the low profile design promises high performance cooling with low noise outputs. Let’s see how it performs.
Noctua NH-U12P | Posted on: 14/04/2009 @ 10:35
Noctua have really impressed with the products that have been reviewed on Verdis Reviews before; this week we take a look at another cooler from the same company that has received over 150 awards for its high quality design. The NH-U12P has been around for a little while now but is still able to compete with many of the newer additions from rival companies. Enough said, time to have a better look ...
Thermaltake BigTyp 14 Pro CPU Cooler | Posted on: 13/04/2009 @ 13:30
The Thermaltake promotional material claims the BigTyp 14 Pro is "completely silent", which just isn't true at any speed with the included fan. Despite this, I was quite pleased with the performance and noise level at the lowest speed setting. When I switched the stock fan out for a 92mm fan mounted under the cooling fins (blowing upward) things got even better.
NOX Sirocco | Posted on: 13/04/2009 @ 0:45
When it comes to laptop coolers, many people are sceptical as to whether they really offer much performance in terms of cooling with many products simply not making enough of a difference to warrant customers buying them. Today, we have the NOX Sirocco which hopes to change all this and make a bigger impact but will it be able to perform? Let’s find out…
Cooler Master Storm Scout Mid-Tower Case | Posted on: 10/04/2009 @ 13:50
There’s one thing about this case that I like right off the bat. Instead of designing an I/O panel into the front or top bezel of the case, Cooler Master sprung for a removable 3.5” bay device with eSATA, USB, and audio jacks. If this were a swankier case, I’d probably have a problem with it, but for cases of this simple design and price range, I think it’s perfect and ...

The fine folks at Cooler Master, well known for their cooling products, power supplies and cases, have been showing us innovative products and designs for over a decade now, but have we seen it all? Nope not even close, it seems that even with the newest cases at the end of 2008 (the HAF 932 and ATSC 840), that they are not ready to sit still. Instead they have launched a new division geared ...

I give you the NB-Driveguard.
Choiix C-HL01-WS Air-Through Laptop Cooling Pad | Posted on: 08/04/2009 @ 12:30
During testing, the temperatures of the processor, graphics card, and hard drive were all lowered thanks to the use of the Choiix C-HL01-WS Air-Through laptop cooling pad, although none of the improvements were extreme. Other positives include an integrated 4-port USB hub and a pair of 60mm fans that can be turned on or off with a push of a button.

Zalman VF950 | Posted on: 06/04/2009 @ 14:54
To keep up with the latest hotter and faster graphics cards, Zalman have needed to update their VF900 – which we reviewed back in May 2007 – with the VF-950. They haven’t just changed the cooler to support more recent graphic cards though; the new model is entirely different. We hope so too, as we weren’t very impressed with the VF-900. Anyway let’s not dwell on ...

It is Socket 1366-capable and looks stunning in nickel-coated black, so despite its imposing name, what remains to be seen is whether it can cool well or not. Let\'s find out.

Gelid Silent Spirit | Posted on: 03/04/2009 @ 15:30
Since the rapid developments in CPU’s over the past few years there has been a booming industry for high end CPU coolers, many of which cost well over the £50 mark. This has meant that high-end performance coolers at the lower end of the price spectrum have been doing quite well in the shops. But can a low cost, yet high quality cooler possible hope to be as good as the more expensive ...
Cooler Master Sileo 500 Mid-Tower Case - TheTechLounge.com | Posted on: 01/04/2009 @ 3:21
One thought springs to mind. Is this case too budget? It's for sale well under a hundred bucks, which might mean that there are too many cut corners, or maybe that instead of some kind of NASA-developed space quiet foam, they're using leftover packing materials. Maybe the steel's only for show, and the case is made out of plastic with a metal veneer (Cooler Master, I know you did this that one ...
