Atlantis Awaits on Launch Pad for Hubble Repair MissionNASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis is now sitting on its launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, awaiting its liftoff currently targeted for May 12th, 2009. The 11-day STS-125 mission will be the final shuttle flight to the Hubble Space Telescope until a new NASA Space Transportation Vehicle is available. The astronauts on the STS-125 mission will install two new instruments on the Hubble Telescope and will also repair two inactive ones. The crew will also repair and replace some other components needing work.
