NASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis is now sitting on its launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, awaiting its liftoff currently targeted for May 12th, 2009. The 11-day STS-125 mission will be the final shuttle flight to the Hubble Space Telescope until a new NASA Space Transportation Vehicle is available. The astronauts on the STS-125 mission will install two new instruments on the Hubble Telescope and will also repair two inactive ones. The crew will also repair and replace some other components needing work.
