Western Digital Unveils Faster and Greener 2TB Drive

Western Digital has expanded its enterprise family of hard drives with the WD RE4-GP 2, a new drive that holds 2TB of data, has a 64MB cache, and dual processors to achieve a 25% increase in performance over previous generation drives. The WD GreenPower platform is first 3.5-inch hard drive platform designed with power savings as the primary attribute. These drives reduce average drive power consumption by up to 50 percent over currently available competitors' drives and are ultra-cool and quiet.
