Dell is preparing its new line of Latitude notebooks to take on netbooks in the education industry. The kid-friendly 2100 models are geared towards kindergarten through eight grade and features four different 'school age' colors; School Bus Orange, Blue Ribbon, Red Apple, and Chalkboard Black. Spec wise, the notebook comes with a 10.1-inch screen, 1.6GHz Atom CPU, up to 2GB of RAM, and an optional solid state hard drive. The whole notebook weighs in at just under three pounds, making it very portable for transporting between home and school. One of the best features of the 2100 is that it's rubberized to help protect it from the tossing around in your backpack or perhaps drop from your hands (hopefully that won't be the case).
