ZeniMax Media & Bethesda Softworks Buys id Software

ZeniMax Media announced today that it has acquired id Software, the game developer who made Quake, Doom, Rage, and many other great gaming titles. The details of the acquisition is not known nor was it disclosed.ZeniMax is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks which is the makers of Fallout 3. "This was a unique opportunity to team with a smart, sophisticated publisher like Bethesda Softworks where the interests of the studio and the publisher will be fully aligned in the development and marketing of our titles. In addition, we will now have financial and business resources to support the future growth of id Software, a huge advantage which will result in more and even better games for our fans." said Todd Hollendshead CEO of id Software.
