We've all heard about it, we've all dreamed about it, but now it's official and it's coming sooner rather than later - The Google Chrome Operating System. The Google Chrome OS will be based off of the Google Chrome Browser and will feature a Linux Kernel that boots to a new window manager and from there runs the browser. Google Chrome OS will of course be open source and will target netbooks. It will be designed to run on both ARM and x86 platforms and Google apparently is already working with partners to bring the OS on a number of netbooks next year.
