ASUS Rampage III Formula Pre-release Tour

Arriving with us today is something very special indeed. The motherboard to complete the entire X58 ASUS Rampage line - the ASUS Rampage III Formula. We decided to put up some pictures of the box/motherboard straight away to give you a first hand preview of this new board before anyone else. The review will be coming very soon.

So where does the Formula differ to the Extreme and Gene? Well the Formula has different chipset cooling to start with. A single heat-pipe design transferring hear from the ICH10R chip towards the x58 heatsink and MOSFET heatsinks. It has less PCI-e lanes - just 3 instead of the 4 found on the Extreme. There is also no RC bluetooth feature.

In a nutshell, the Rampage III Formula is a cheaper alternative to the Extreme. It has less features, and so will come in at a lower pricepoint. This is going to appeal to gamers who can't quite afford the likes of the Extreme but still want cutting edge RoG performance. Ok there may be a few features trimmed down, but in essence you are still getting a big slice of the cake so to speak.
