Seagate is still the only company that has developed a 3.5" harddrive with 3TB capacity. So far the drive is not available separately, but at least it has found a new home; Seagate's NAS solutions of the BlackArmor series that gets upgraded to maximal 12TB capacity.

QNAP recently launched new units sporting 1.8 GHz Atom processors. The new business geared NAS units of the TS-x59+ series, where "x" represents the number of harddrive slots. All units have the common configuration with Atom D525 processors, 1GB RAM and 2, 4, 5 or 6 harddrive slots.
