Bullguard Internet Security 9.0

Bullguard Internet Security 9.0 is the most recent version of the Bullguard Internet Security software to be released, and is their first major release in two years. The new look to the software is clean, simple and easy to use with an interface that presents you with a number of straight forward icons that let you perform simple security tasks with just the click of a mouse. These icons are:

  • Scan for viruses
  • Backup your data
  • Allow/Block programs
  • Contact support
  • Online Drive
  • System Status
  • Check for updates
  • Your Bullguard Account
  • Upgrade

The software has been designed with the end user in mind making it really simple to use on a daily basis whether you are a novice or someone who is an IT enthusiast. Unlike many other internet security packages where you have to delve through layers of menus to find the various aspects and features, the simplicity of using this software makes it feel really friendly.

Mobile broadband services are now becoming more and more affordable as well. Many people that use to think that they simply could not afford to log on remotely are now able to because the cost of this service has come down significantly and so the average person is now likely to be able to utilise this service.

Key features of the software include:

Some of these key features make it stand out as well, such as the instant messaging protection which means that when you exchange pictures, files and so on via an instant messaging service, these are checked just as incoming e-mail or data from websites would be. Constant security updates without loss of computer performance is another thing that is key here, and the fact that you get 24/7 support given in plain English as well is a real bonus. You also get 5GB of backup space where you can store and therefore protect all your most highly valued data such as documents and photos etc.

One rather nice feature is that while it is performing its various tasks, it does so very quietly in the background rather than making a lot of noise and asking for input at each step. Bullguard just gets on with it, does the tasks and then lets you know when it is finished.

The biggest difference that I can see between this latest version of Bullguard and every other piece of internet security software out there, is that Bullguard have done away with the various levels of scanning your computer. You no longer have quick scan, complete scan and deep scan, instead the system allows you to just customise your scan instead so that you get to choose what gets scanned and what does not instead of the system assuming it knows best.

Bullguard claim that they do not confuse their customers with functionality and information they do not need, or questions they cannot answer, and that in their experience people don’t really care how something works as long as it works, and for the most part this is true. This latest version is simple, stylish, and does a good job of securing your pc from online threats such as viruses, spyware, identity theft, credit card fraud, hackers, spam and so on.
